Upstand Wall Anchors

Upstand wall anchors are used most often around a penthouse wall. The ability to penetrate the penthouse wall and use the structural floor, steel, or wall itself, saves the cost of roofing and flashing typically associated with roof anchors.

Rigid Upstand Wall Anchors are used for non-structural wall and utilize the strength of the penthouse floor for support.

After installation a caulking material is put around the 3-1/2″ anchor post to ensure moisture protection.

Reinforced Upstand Wall Anchors are used when some support is provided by the penthouse wall, but not sufficient enough to meet the codes. A bolt is secured through the wall to the reinforcement anchor installed inside the penthouse.

I-Beam Wrap Anchors

These anchors are used to wrap existing structural steel in the roof and/or wall of a building. They can be used for direct rigging and tie-back of supported systems.

The roof is opened above the structural beam and our galvanized anchor is installed and tightened around the beam. Roofing experts then flash the round anchor post to ensure water integrity. This is one of our most widely used installations.

Rigging Sleeves

Rigging sleeves are used to access areas that have large overhangs and cornices, or are totally enclosed so as to provide no access with standard outrigger supported scaffolds, such as atriums.

Rigging sleeves can be fixed units that provide access paths for support cables and would require additional support, or structural units that can be used as the primary support.

They can also be designed to be unobtrusive to the architecture of the building, but be ready to use easily and safely when needed.

Adhesive Anchors

American Anchors Adhesive anchor line are an excellent choice for structural concrete in roof locations, penthouse walls, and parapets. With proper installation techniques the anchor strength is more than sufficient to meet OSHA and ANSI requirements. With models that can be installed in as little as 4″ of concrete they are very often the anchor of choice for our engineers.

Bolt Through Roof Anchors

This model of anchorage is chosen when the building has a structural concrete deck, but the deck is either constructed with a thin concrete as in concrete joist style which does not allow chemical bonding, or a composite deck. Once the location is selected a single 1 1/8 hole is drilled thru the concrete and a support piece of structural steel is secured on the underside of the deck to the anchor above. This anchor also allows multiple choices for install locations and helps avoid difficult or impossible access below the deck, unlike beam wrap anchors which of course must be located at the existing steel grid lines.

Cast-in-Place Anchors

Cast-in-place anchors are used during the construction of the building when concrete pour is being utilized. The anchor is placed into the rebar of the deck, or wall, and becomes encapsulated into the structure. In some instances we will utilize an embed plate for the pour and weld an anchor to that plate after the pour to give the workers floating the concrete an uninterrupted surface to work on. This is a very secure anchor setup and will last as long as the building. All components are hot dipped galvanized.

Horizontal Lifeline Systems (HLL)

HLL’s are used primarily for restraint of the technician on the roof and or the ledge when performing necessary tasks. They solve a very real problem and can allow safe access to areas that would be potentially deadly where a fall to occur, by limiting access to the fall. These systems can run short distances or even up to hundreds of feet with the proper intermediate posts for support. HLL’s are designed to fit the very specific conditions of each site and require proper engineering designs. Traditional tie back anchors can also be incorporated into the system to allow suspended access work and fall arrest capabilities.
